We summon thee to an epic culinary delight—a dessert auction like no other! Join us in the mirth and revelry as we indulge our sweet tooth and raise funds for the majestic new Castle that shall grace our beloved Quad War site.

Prepare thy pockets of plenty and unleash thy thunderous voice, for the bidding shall be fierce, and the desserts delectable! From ambrosial pies to heavenly cakes, the realm of confectionery shall be at your fingertips. Seek out your favorites, for they shall vie for your affection in the glorious arena of temptation.

But lo! We call upon the generous souls among you to showcase your culinary prowess and contribute to this noble cause. Whether thou art skilled in the arts of pastry creation or a master of the coin, we implore thee to join our ranks. If thou art willing to bestow upon us thy dessert masterpiece, message Skaddi or Hamelin, we shall seek thee out with haste.

We beseech thee, dear contributors, to include a complete list of ingredients with thy dessert donation. And if thy heart overflows with boundless generosity, attach the coveted recipe, that future generations may relish in thy sweet secrets.

Furthermore, we kindly request that any bakers who possess the arcane knowledge of gluten-free alchemy to bless our auction with their creations. Let no aversion to gluten deter our gluten-intolerant comrades from experiencing the joyous wonders of the dessert realm. Your gluten-free delights shall be a beacon of hope and inclusion for all.

Mark thy calendars, for this splendid event shall take place at the culmination of Court on Saturday night. And fear not, dear Avacalians, for the desserts shall patiently await your arrival. We kindly request that thou refrain from urging the court to a hasty conclusion, as the tantalizing treats shall remain fresh and delightful, ready to captivate thy taste buds with their sugary enchantment.

So, let it be known throughout the land that the dessert auction of Avacal 10-year shall be a triumph of taste, a celebration of confection, and a means to forge a splendid new pavilion for our cherished community. Together, let us make this event the stuff of legends!

Join us, one and all, for an evening of sugared delights, laughter, and the spirit of giving. For the Castle, for Avacal, for the pursuit of dessert ecstasy!

Cask & Castle Caravans, Sunday, June 29, 2025

Good Morning, Avacal! Over the years, the Quad War Castle has earned a place in the imagery and minds of our citizens as a landmark of your Principality and then your Kingdom. We have fought in its shadow, defended and attacked its doors, and some of us have even enjoyed sleeping in it. But over the years, like all of us, the castle has felt the burden of time wearing on it.

This is our 2nd year of raising funds to give our CASTLE A MAKEOVER AND BRING BACK THE GLORY IT DESERVES!!!

Here’s how it works. You donate $40 or more to the castle. That’s it. That’s all. Simple as that. You kick over cash to the castle. But wait, that’s not actually all. We’re running a Cask & Castle Caravan to show appreciation to all who support the castle rebuild. When you donate $40 or more to the castle rebuild, you’ll receive a wristband that shows you’re a supporter and that wristband will allow you access to one of the Caravans

On Sunday Night after evening court, we’re going to have 2 Caravans leaving the Court to tour local stops around the site.

The 1st Caravan will be the polite-est of our polite, finest of our fine, the most respectable and well mannered citizens who enjoy their tea with their pinky’s out and only use their inside voices.

The 2nd group will be the Kingdom’s scoundrels, the loud, the unsavory, the obnoxious, the people your peers warned you about, the thirsty, those who have lost their inside voices at the same event they lost their shame and dignity. So you just jump in with whichever group appeals more to you. The Fancy Tour goes first and the Rowdy Tour goes second.

But where are all these Stops around the Quad Site you ask?
Here are the stops for 2025:
1. The Main Street Menagerie (Iolar/Coryn/Skaadi)
2. The Dark Lord’s Lair (Lord Vader & fiends…we mean friends!)
3. The Embassy (Castle Rouge & friends)
4. The Ruffled Raven (Ruffled Raven household & friends)
5. The Boars (The Boars household)
6. “Elbows Up!” in the Grotto (Odin’s Bastards household)
7. Dwarf Hollow (Dwarf Hollow friends)

Each stop will have a food and drink offering. Each Caravan will stay approximately 25 minutes, then travel onwards. Food will be appetizer-type offerings. (We’re not fighting world hunger and trying to feed the groups 5-6 full meals).

After the Caravans have passed through each stop, the final stop will be at Dwarf Hollow, where the Surly Duke is rumored to hang out. Any hosts with leftover food and drink are welcome to bring it to the fire and share with all who are there. This is intended to bring the entire populace together and enjoy a communal fire with songs and stories and laughing and general good times. So come on out and join in and either sing well or else sing loud, or ideally both, but if you have to pick one, go with loud.

Alfheim Eats! Dwarf Hollow Steak Supper: Tuesday, July 1, 2025

Hosted by the Alfheim Eats! Fundraising team, and prepared in the Dwarf encampment kitchen, we bring you a fundraiser meal that will certainly satisfy your taste buds!

Your meal includes:

An 8 oz Alberta Beef New York steak (it’s Canada day, after all!), marinated for 24-hrs, slow-cooked sous vide to medium rare, & finished on the barbeque to caramelize & seal the taste; served with an Italian garden salad, Dwarven macaroni salad, baked potato, garlic toast, & some sort of delicious dessert yet to be determined.

It will be served in Dwarf Hollow: Please bring your own eating utensils & plates (help us be more eco-friendly).

Maximum 100 people; we will serve starting at 17:00 in seatings of 30 people, with the next group to commence at 17:40 (and so on). Register for the seating time you prefer. Currently, there are only 2 options: 17:00 (5:00 p.m.) and 17:40 (5:40 p.m.). If there is enough interest, we will open an additional seating at 18:15 (6:15 p.m.)

Your meal includes:

Succulent chicken, marinated for 24-hrs, slow-cooked over hickory & apple wood chips, & finished on the barbeque to caramelize & seal the taste; served with an Italian garden salad, garlic toast, baked potato & devine chocolate raspberry cheese cake. Please bring your own eating utensils & plates (help us be more eco-friendly).

Maximum 40 people;

Saturday, Sept 20, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m., hosted by the Alfheim Eats! Fundraising team and prepared in the Dwarf encampment kitchen, we bring you another fundraiser meal that will satisfy your taste buds!

Your meal includes:

A choice of breaded & spiced pork schnitzel (no dietary restrictions) OR breaded & spiced chicken schnitzel (gluten & dairy free); mashed potatoes (butter, milk, salt & pepper) or baked potatoes; jaegar (hunter) gravy (gluten free option available); sour kraut (cabbage, salt, caraway seed), garden salad, some sort of dessert. Please help us be more eco-friendly by bringing your own plates (we’ll have cutlery).
