Delaroche Rapier Buy-a-life Tournament (13:00-15:00)
Hosted and sponsored by House Delaroche. location: At the erics
House Delaroche will once again host our buy-a-life tourneys as a fundraiser for quad site improvements.
How does it work? There will be a tourney for each of armoured combat, fencing, and archery. In each tourney you can buy lives for $2 each. You lose a life each time you are defeated but you’re not out until you have no lives left. And even then, you can buy more lives to stay in.
Even better, your friends can buy lives for you. Be an anonymous benefactor and discreetly buy lives for someone. Have fun with it. We’ll accept cash or e-transfers. These tourneys will be run Sunday afternoon one after another so you can take part in as many as you like and are authorized for.
There will be prizes. Anyone can win! Bragging rights go to the last competitor standing. A draw will determine who gets the prize.

Rapier War Combat (Saturday, 15:00-17:00ish; inspection 14:00)
Organized and hosted by Duke Ellias Silver. location: starting at Cavalier Village
Quad War is fast approaching and once again we stand ready with blade, spear and pistol in hand. Thus without further ado we present this year’s Rapier War Scenarios!
Inspections open at 2:00 at Cavalier Village. All fighters and weapons must be inspected and authorization cards presented.
At 3:00 inspections will close, we will go through the TRP’s and the War Scenarios.
WARM UP
Snowball Battle – All weapons styles allowed except guns. No “Death from behind”.
All fighters gather on the field. Fighters square off against each other with the losing fighter(s) joining the winning fighter(s) side creating and larger team/army. This continues until there are only 2 armies left. They fight and a winner is declared.
The next 4 battles are points battles that will determine the Rapier War point.
Fighters will divide into the three Baronies, Montengarde, Myrgan Wood and Borealis with the remainder of the fighters uniting under the King’s Banner (Kingsland) and led by the Kingdom Rapier Champion.
The following scenarios will see each army team up with another and face off in the coming battles. Act I will see armies – 1 & 2 vs. 3 & 4. ACT II – 1 & 3 vs. 2 & 4. ACT III – 1 & 4 vs. 2 & 3. For each win an army gets they will receive 1 point. ACT IV will see the army with the most points face off against all 3 other armies.
At the end of the day the army with the most points will be declared the winner. In the event of a tie the deadlocked armies will choose a champion to fight in single combat with the victor winning the point for their army.
ACT I
The River of Woe
1 & 2 vs. 3 & 4
All weapon styles allowed. Pistols allowed – one shot per gun. Siege allowed. “Death from Behind” allowed.
Armies set up on either side of a river. Spanning the river there is a waist high uncovered bridge. Fighting can take place on the bridge and on the land but not in the river. Fighters stepping off the bridge are swept down the river and are considered dead. There is a fjord set a ways down the river where Masters of Defense and Rapier champions may cross the river on their knees (simulating crossing on horseback). Once on the other side they may stand and continue fighting as normal. You cannot fight while crossing the river but you can shoot and be shot. If slain a fighter must move off the battlefield. Fighting continues until one team of armies is victorious.
ACT II
A Sea of Sorrows
1 & 3 vs. 2 & 4
All weapon styles allowed. Pistols allowed only from dry land – one shot per gun. Siege allowed only from dry land. “Death from Behind” allowed.
Each team is given a starting island and a boat. Players may maneuver their boats to engage with other armies on land or at sea. Boats must be carried when moving and must be dropped when engaging other enemy boats or landing on dry land. Allied boats may travel together. Allied armies may travel in allied boats. Boats may be stolen/taken over and used by conquering armies. Fighters in boats are immune to gunfire but not Cannon fire. Any boat hit by Cannon Fire is deemed sunk and is considered non usable for the rest of the battle. All passengers in a sunk boat must “swim” (knee walk) to the nearest boat or dry land. While swimming fighters cannot attack. They can defend and move only. Swimming fighters can be shot or stabbed.
ACT III
The Coliseum of Chaos
1 & 4 vs. 2 & 3
All weapon styles allowed. Pistols allowed – 3 shots per gun. No siege allowed. “Death from Behind” allowed.
Armies line up on the four corners of a large square battlefield marked out by flags. Each army starts with one fighter in the “Coliseum”. Every 6 seconds each army sends another fighter into the Coliseum to join the battle. (This will be counted down by the MIC) This is done until ALL fighters have entered the field. Fighters may only enter the field from their corner. No fighting may occur within 5’ of an army’s entry point. Fighters stepping out of bounds are considered “Stunned” but NOT dead. They must return to the back of their army’s line and wait to reenter the battle. A winning team is declared when they have defeated all other enemy fighters.
ACT IV
Battle of the Four Armies
Army with the most points vs. All other armies
All weapon styles allowed. “Death from Behind” allowed. Guns allowed, unlimited ammunition. No Siege.
The army with the most points chooses a tavern to start in. All other armies start outside on the battlefield. Battle begins and fights can take place anywhere. If slain a fighter must move off the battlefield. Fighting continues until one team of armies is victorious.
“But wait there’s more!”
Carnage at the Castle Gate
Masters of Defense vs. Everyone else
This is NOT a points battle
All weapon styles allowed. Guns allowed. Unlimited ammunition. “Death from Behind” NOT allowed. No Siege.
This Battle will have a time limit. A Castle Gate is marked off on the battlefield. Fighters must fight each other through the castle gate. Masters of Defense along with their Provosts and students will start on one side; all others will start on the other. When a fighter is slain they leave the battlefield and walk around the gate and join the other side. Battle continues until one side is slain or time runs out.
Field is open for teaching and pick up fighting as long as there is a Marshal present.

All wins and losses are counted, but fighters will have their numbers compared only to other fighters in their category.
