History of Event

In 1995, Quad War was started by the Shire of Bordergate as their championship annual event. The war was named “quad” for the four armies it brought together: 3 baronies and 1 principality (now a kingdom). In 1997, the event came to rest in its current location. It has been the hard work and dedication of many volunteers that have fostered the magic around this destination event. This site currently boasts a Castle, children’s play area & shelter, TUA pavilions, Eric pavilion, and several permanent public structures (showers, biffies, troll building, autocrat shed, archery shed, well house) along with 45+ privately owned buildings.

Quad War attracts a wide variety of activities that is sure to delight everyone’s interests; the challenge is fitting it all in to just one weekend. Beyond the armored combat war activities, there are also TUA classes, target archery, throwing weapons, war bow, art & science, combat tourneys, siege cooking, bardic, youth activities, merchant area, food vendors and more.
