Now I know that I normally have some crazy themed targets but I’ve been wanting to run a Royal Round at an event for the longest time, so that’s what I’m going to do.
A Royal Round is 6 arrows at 20, 30, 40 yards & a 20 yard timed end. Don’t worry if you have never shot a Royal Round before myself and others will happily teach you. Come check it out! Loaner gear available & prizes will be awarded.
2025 Hammered Kneadle Target Prize Triathlon (10:00 – 12:00 )
Hosted and sponsored by the Hammered Kneadle; location at the Archery field
The HK waffles back and forth between triathlon and pentathlon – this year it’s the triathlon! The HK would like to encourage more participants in the thrown weapons discipline. This event will include cumulative scores from three of the Thrown Weapons categories – Axe, Knife and Spear (no atl-atls). In order to provide an even balance of scores between the disciplines, this tourney will not follow standard Avacal target size and scoring. Details will be explained at the competition.
“The Hammered Kneadle would like to invite you out to participate in a prize tournament while you test your skills in Target. What can be more rousing than throwing a sharp hunk of metal at an object? There will be a limit on the number of participants due to time, so sign up early and don’t miss out. Sign up at the Hammered Kneadle on Merchants’ Row or during weapons inspection prior to the tournament.”
It is highly encouraged that participants in the tournament have some prior experience and familiarity with Thrown Weapons. Schedule and time permitting there will be warm up time permitted.
Personal thrown weapons are encouraged to be used by participants in the tourney. However, for those that do not have a complete set, there will be loaner gear (crossbow/combat bolts, spear, axe, knives; no bow/arrows though) available for use for a small tithe (to pay for bent knives and broken axe handles).
Please ensure your thrown weapons meet the requirements set forth in the Avacal Book of Thrown Weapons

Even better, your friends can buy lives for you. Be an anonymous benefactor and discreetly buy lives for someone. Have fun with it. We’ll accept cash or e-transfers. These tourneys will be run Sunday afternoon one after another so you can take part in as many as you like and are authorized for.

hosted by Archos Robert Boniface; at the Archery Field
Good day fine persons! We’re on the books for this event to have an arcarius – style target archery tournament. What is that, you might ask? Why thank you, conveniently curious hypothetical populace member!
Conceptually it’s very similar to a squires’ or provosts’ tournament. Once the tournament begins, you find an opponent and shoot a match against each other. Repeat as many times as it’s fun for you and the scheduled time allows. Report wins and losses to the lists.
Prizes awarded for best win percentage and chivalric behaviour.
This tournament is open to anyone who is a current Arcarius or equivalent and anyone sponsored by a member of the Order of the Mark, member of the Order of the Grey Goose Shaft (identified as Archos), or any of the equivalent orders from other kingdoms. No actual fealty is necessary to get into the tournament, but sponsorship is necessary.
Format details: Introductions, followed by 1 hour of self-directed matches. Shooting when range is open, retrieving when range is closed. Self-reporting wins and losses to the lists table each round. Having multiple matches per round is permitted.
What should you bring? Bring whatever equipment you need to shoot target archery. Each match will need 3 arrows per archer but there is no upper limit on how many you can bring. Cost none; Maximum none.
